YOUR PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER
Danielle grew up around all kinds of animals and always had the desire to learn more about and create a career working with them. After working at Vet offices as a Vet Technician, she wanted to continue her education with animal behavior.
In January of 2013, Danielle started her path in becoming a dog trainer by going to the Tom Rose School in High Ridge, MO. There, she was certified in May 2013 as a Professional Dog Trainer and pursued her career further by becoming a certified Master Dog Trainer in September 2013. Her, she skilled and tested in Puppy Imprinting, Basic and Advanced Obedience, AKC Agility and Obedience, Scent Detection, Tracking, Search and Rescue, and more. After certification, she gained her experience by working with trainers up the east coast until finding her home here, in Charleston and opening Strong Mind K9, LLC in 2016.
With 10+ years experience as a Master Dog Trainer, Danielle has experience in all breeds, energy levels, and different working lines of dogs. She is super excited and motivated to see where Strong Mind K9 will go in helping people and their dogs connect with a better relationship and with clear communication.
At Strong Mind K9, we offer rewarding, balanced, and professional training. We understand every dog is unique and is taken into consideration with what techniques we use with each dog. We believe all dogs can be trained and all dogs want to be “Good Dogs!”, they just need to be shown how.
With proper training that clearly teaches dogs and their owners what we expect and want from them, we can accomplish leveling that dog you desire. Through consistency, fairness, and balanced training with our dogs, we can develop a strong relationship that is based on trust, communication, and control.
The bond with you and your dog is the most important. Let us teach you how to enjoy and how to clearly communicate with your dog!
Timing
Linking your dog’s behavior with positive and negative reinforcements. This is how your dog learns problem solving and what to do when you ask them. Any behavior a dog has (good or bad) it must have a follow up reinforcement within 1.3 seconds of that behavior. Dogs live in the moment, so we catching behaviors in the act is the goal.
Motivation
Influencing the decision making process. What gets your dog to do something? This is what makes every dog is different. Motivation can help encourage them to continue to have good behaviors and redirect the bad behaviors. Using the right tools and techniques as well as understanding your dog’s body language, you’ll be able to succeed in knowing what motivates your dog.
Consistency
One of the most important and hardest principals of dog training. Being creatures of habits, consistency helps communicate to your dog clearly and plays a huge role in training. If we are inconsistent in the way we use motivation, timing, rules in the home, routine, then we are doing a disservice to our dogs.
“BOWMAN”
“Danielle is a fantastic trainer, she helped take our crazy off the walls GSP to an obedient, enjoyable addition to our family. Her at home puppy program and off leash programs are in my opinion the best in the state. She keeps everything simple for the owner and promotes a positive and enjoyable way to train your dog. I will definitely be taking any puppy I get to her. Couldn’t be any more pleased.”

“HENRY”
“We have so much more control over our dog Henry now because of Danielle’s training. We can finally enjoy taking him out without stressing about his behavior and uncontrollably barking and fixating on other dogs. We can even off leash him now because we’re so comfortable about his recall and when we say heel he stops and waits until we’re beside him to start walking again. It’s incredible. Danielle’s training style is so patient both with our dog Henry and us, ha. She was so observant and gave us so much insight about what Henry was going through and why he was responding certain ways and how to correct it. It took us a lot of years to finally decide to do training and I wish we had followed through sooner. I’m so happy it was with Danielle. Whenever we get another dog we will immediately use Strong Mind K9’s training program from the start!”

“LAYLA”
“We worked with Danielle in her Off Leash Mind Program. When we first started, Layla was dragging me down the street, peeing on the floor when guests arrived, ate my entire sofa, and all of our base boards. Her relationship with my husband was strained and it was impossible for him to even take her to the bathroom. Danielle made sure to start the program off slow because Layla was not very confident. In just a few lessons, Layla started to walk tall and proud! We now have a confident, amazing, well behaved pup! It is such an amazing feeling when people come over and comment on how well behaved she is! We owe it all to Danielle!”
